SMS Compliance

Lease DIY text updates are optional, consent-based, and used for operational rental updates. They are not used for marketing.

1. Operational Message Use

Lease DIY may send account, lease, rent, reminder, maintenance, security, support, and property-management text updates after the mobile number owner opts in.

Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply.

Lease DIY does not sell mobile opt-in data or share SMS consent information with third parties for their marketing.

2. Direct User Opt-In

A landlord, property manager, tenant, or invited user enters or updates their own mobile phone number in an authenticated Lease DIY phone-number form. The SMS checkbox is unchecked by default and consent is recorded only when that user chooses the checkbox.

3. Renter Phone Numbers

Landlords and property managers may add renter phone numbers as contact or prefill information only after the renter or number owner has agreed to receive Lease DIY texts. Adding a renter phone number does not opt the renter into SMS. The renter must enter or confirm their own mobile number and choose the SMS checkbox after accepting the email invitation.

4. Example Messages

  • Welcome to Lease DIY. Text updates are on for your account. We will send important lease, rent, maintenance, and account updates. Reply HELP for options or STOP to turn off texts.
  • Quick heads up: rent for your lease is due soon. Open Lease DIY to review details.

5. Public Policies

The current public Terms and Privacy Policy describe SMS consent, STOP and HELP handling, message and data rates, and the mobile opt-in sharing restriction.
